American
Shipping and Chartering covers a variety of modes for
vessel engagement including voyage and time charter trips,
COA’s, period employment and government contracts.
One
of the main areas of our activity is chartering market
between
Mexican
Gulf
and
U.S. East Coast and
Europe
,
including
Russia
and
the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The ocean transportation leg is done with true
multipurpose vessels of the "
Astrakhan
" type, which are able to accommodate up to
17,000 metric tons of cargo. These ships have unique
capabilities and are able to handle project, general and
bulk cargoes (Including I.M.O. cargoes, bulk cargoes
including grain and grain products, meals, petroleum coke,
coal and concentrates). The vessel's stern quarter RO/RO
ramp is giving us the additional flexibility allowing
rolling stock to be driven directly from the dock to
vessel's RO/RO deck/tweendecks reducing loading and
discharging time and expenses. In addition to these rare
features these vessels are also able to handle heavy-lifts
of up to 125 metric tons by way of their own heavy-lift
derrick. The combination of the vessels' heavy-lift
capacity and the large hatches (up to 110 feet long) makes
it possible to handle special projects requiring large
pieces of machinery or equipment to be loaded under deck
by ship's own gear.
Another
important regions of our activities include U.S. Atlantic
Coast and West Coast of South America. We represent owners
of M/V Normandie, M/V Algarve, and M/V Masuren which are
conbulkers with boxshaped holds, abt 32,000 MT deadweight,
built 1998 or later, geared up to 70 MT. These vessels are
employed in a regular service between Chile/Peru and U.S.
Gulf/U.S. East Coast and vice versa. Other ports en route
are carefully considered on sufficient inducement.
In
our
Caribbean
operations we regularly provide vessels for cargoes from
Trinidad
,
Venezuela
,
North Coast of South America to world-wide destinations.
The
combination of the above-mentioned factors, as well as
extensive experience in all aspects of ocean
transportation and operating in foreign markets enables
A.S.C.'s own staff to identify the best procedures working
with local and professional contractors in the interest of
our client's needs and to identify and alleviate problems
before they occur.
